A going away party for The King of The Pier - Terry Whiteman
Many of our Big Fish News Members are well familiar with our fishing buddy and friend, Terry Whiteman. We all refer to Terry as "The King of the Pier," and for good reason. If Terry ain't catching fish...nobodys catching fish.
Terry has decided to move back to his home area of Penslyvania after not being able to find employment in our area. Terry has been without work for nearly two years after being laid off from a former job because of the economy.
Friends gathered at The Pier for a pizza party on Monday, September 20, 2011 to wish him well as he heads back home. All members of the Steve Gordon All American Fishing Team were present for the send off.
Terry was always willing to share his expertise and tips with anyone that visited The Pier. After being around him for awhile, most everyone was eager to get a new light weight rod and reel and some plastic grubs in hopes of being able to catch fish like Terry. He's responsible for many of us not using live bait any longer and we'll always remember him as our good friend.
We wish Terry well as he heads back home, but hope we can all get together again one day to go after more crappie on The Pier at Harris Lake. We'll miss you Terry. Be Blessed!!!
I am going down to Topsail this weekend. Anybody know anything about the fishing conditions down there this weekend???

The Pier has provided a couple of pretty decent days over the last week for catching crappie. They are a bit small but still seeing a lot of keepers. I've had a couple of days where I've caught…Continue
